Antonelli Institute Chapters of the
Student Photographic Society and the National Press Photographers Association are
proud to host Brad Smith, Photography Director for Sports Illustrated!
Brad Smith is Director of Photography for Sports Illustrated
and former Senior Sports Photography Editor of The New York Times. Previously he served as the Assistant Director
of Photography for President Bill Clinton and the White House. Smith has also
served on the faculty of the Eddie Adams Barnstorm Workshop, The Summit Photography
Workshops, and as a guest lecturer at the School of Visual Arts in New York
City.
The event will be held at Antonelli Institute on April 8,
2014 at 6:00 pm. Brad will be
discussing the Editors craft, trends in sports photography, how photographers
find work with magazines and what he looks for in a photographer. Some keys to
success include a natural eye to relate with the subject and capture unique
content, to be in the right place at the right time, and to be maintenance free
.
