Burglaries: $60,000 in Jewelry Missing from Home

Three burglaries were reported in Chestnut Hill in the past week, according to police.

Burglaries have gone up a bit in the past week in Chestnut Hill, with three reported throughout the neighborhood.

Moreland Circle … A resident of the unit block of Moreland Circle reported June 20, 12 p.m., that someone entered his house through a sliding glass door, ransacked the house and $60,000 in jewelry- including 40 necklaces- were taken, police said.

Summit Avenue … A resident of the unit block of Summit Street reported June 24, 5:30 a.m., that sometime overnight, someone entered her home through a rear window and took two laptops, a purse and earrings, police said.

Crittenden Street … A resident of the 7600 block of Crittenden Street reported June 21, 7:30 a.m., that someone broke into her apartment through a front sliding window and $650 worth of cash, clothing and jewelry were missing, police said.
