Burglaries: Platinum Grille and Prospect Ave.

A look at the burglaries which have occurred in the past week in Chestnut Hill.

This week's burglaries have gone down a bit, since last week saw four homes and an office being broken into. This week, one home and one restaurant reported burglaries.

  • Prospect Avenue: A resident of the 8400 block of Prospect Avenue reported Aug. 22, 3:30 p.m., that he and his wife returned home from vacation to find that the window in the master bathroom had been forced open, police said. According to police, the homeowners found that the master bedroom had been ransacked and $50,050 in jewelry was missing.
  • Platinum Grille: The owner of , 7719 Crittenden Street, reported Aug. 19, 10:30 p.m., that someone had entered the restaurant using a key, disarmed the burglar alarm and took $1,100 from the rear office, police said. According to police, the owner believes that it may have been an employee since a key was used.
