Chestnut Hill Bank Robbed At Gunpoint: Philadelphia Police

In the late morning on Dec. 23, a man held up a bank on Germantown Avenue and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA – An armed robber held up a Chestnut Hill bank just days before the Christmas holiday, and now the FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is asking for the public's help identifying the suspect. There is a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture and tipsters can remain anonymous.

According to police, at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, a man entered the Citizens Bank branch located at 8616 Germantown Ave. and approached the counter with a black semi automatic handgun.

He demanded money from the teller and fled in an unknown direction after getting an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

He's described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded windbreaker jacket, black mask, light gray gloves with black palms, dark pants, and a black bag with orange trim on the top – possibly a lunch or cooler-style bag, police said.

He is considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.
