The Choristers Presents an Historic Concert, Kile Smith's VESPERS with Piffaro, the Renaissance Band

On Saturday November 21st 2015, 7:30pm in the acoustically magnificent Trinity Lutheran Church, The Choristers will present Kile Smith’s sacred & exquisite VESPERS (2008). The choir will be accompanied with period instruments by world renowned Piffaro, the Renaissance Band, that commissioned VESPERS.

Mr. Smith wrote, “I have loved the Lutheran liturgy from childhood. So I was thrilled when, during discussions with Piffaro, it was suggested the composition be inspired by the musical owering of the Lutheran Reformation. That idea became VESPERS.”

The Choristers performs challenging and/or unjustly neglected choral works at a high standard of musicianship. The Choristers [www.thechoristers.org], a 65–70 voice auditioned concert choir celebrating its 37th season, will be the *first* non-professional choir ever to present Kile Smith’s complete VESPERS [www.kilesmith.com/vespers] with Piffaro [www.piffaro.org].
