COMICS vs. Cancer

Food, drinks and laughs for a cause features Subhah Agarwal as seen on PBS “Modern Comedian” and many other comedians!

This $50 fundraiser:

  • includes a pre-show dinner at the theatre’s adjoining Carfax Building
  • benefits the Peggy Spiegler Melanoma Research Foundation for skin cancer research.

The Peggy Spiegler Melanoma Research Foundation (PSMRF)

supports and funds scientific research into the nature, causes, prevention, treatment, and cure of melanoma so that others neither suffer from the disease nor lose a loved one to it.

If treated early, melanoma is usually preventable. Therefore, in order to disseminate educational information about the prevention of melanoma and other skin cancers, PSMRF supports and funds public programs that spotlight the latest in medicine and research.

Old Academy Players, a member of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, is a non-profit community theater in East Falls (Philadelphia), the urban village on the Schuylkill River. Constructed in 1819, the Old Academy building has been the OAP home since 1932. Old Academy Players has provided continuous community theater since 1923 and featured the acting debuts of both Grace Kelly and Robert Prosky.
