A special tour will reveal the methods and machines utilized to convey material throughout the building from raw grain to the finished product. When the mill was fully operational thousands of pounds of grain were processed by harnessing waterpower each year.
The mill is once again powered by water-2012 being the first season since the Mill was abandoned in 1929. Hear the water splash over the water wheel, feel the rumble of the millstones and witness the cornmeal as it spills down the chute into a barrel below. Costumed mill guides will offer tours and explanations about the workings and history of the Evans-Mumbower Mill.
