This course is described as follows: "Come learn about Sufi mysticism and meditation from centuries past to present day. We will explore mystic poets such as Mevlana Rumi and Hafiz and hear of tales of ancient women mystics such as Rabia and Halwa, and mystics such as Mansur al Hallaj, Abdul Qadir Jilani, and Ibn al Arabi. We will also learn of modern day Sufi teachers such as Bawa Muhaiyyadeen, Lex Hixon, and Muzaffer Ozak. Students will participate in a short circle of remembrance (zikr), the Sufi ceremony of oneness and union with the divine."
