Medium Rare Cinema presents: Hell in the Pacific director's cut

          NEVER BEFORE SEEN VERSION

From the director of "Deliverance" and
"Excalibur" comes John Boorman's "Hell
in the Pacific," a stark, beautifully shot battle
between two acting legends, Lee Marvin and
Toshiro Mifune.

Shot down during World War II, an American
pilot (Marvin) is stranded on an unpopulated
island in the Pacific Ocean. Believing himself to
be alone he finds himself face to face with his
mortal enemy, a Japanese Navy captain
(Mifune) also stranded on the island. Daring
from the start, including a refusal to subtitle any
of the dialogue (mirroring the character's
confusion),"Hell in the Pacific" was utterly
ruined by a boneheaded, anti-climactic studio
imposed ending. This version restores
Boorman's original vision.
