Fred Adams and the All Star Collaborators Perform at Jazz Vespers in East Mt. Airy

Jazz Vespers are held at 4:30 pm on the third Sunday of each month at 4:30 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Stenton Ave.

Smooth improvisational jazz was the order of the evening with Fred Adams and the All Star Collaborators performing at the Unitarian Universal Church of the Restoration on Stenton Ave. in the East Mount Airy section of Philadelphia last Sunday afternoon.


Fred Adams was joined by Sonny Sunkett on bass, Fred Simmons on piano, Craig McIver on drums. The celebrated quartet performed improvisations and original compositions by Adams. Titles included “Cat Burglar” and “Matriculate in C.” Fred Adams is a world class composer who for thirty years was a member of the Sun Ra Arkestra.


Jazz Vespers are held at 4:30 pm on the third Sunday of each month at 4:30 pm. Stephen “Katriel” Wise and Company will be performing on December 21st. There is a ten dollar donation requested and a reception afterward with refreshments. Restoration Church is located at 6900 Stenton Avenue (at the corner of Gorgas Lane) in Philadelphia.
