Generator Outage at CHC Draws Fire Deptartment
Sirens were heard throughout Chestnut Hill as several fire trucks showed up at Chestnut Hill College for a generator that went down.

At least four fire trucks rushed to the college Wednesday, shortly after 1 p.m., when a generator at the school went down.
“The generator went down, naturally, because it’s old like that,” said Kevin Nalls, who works with the school’s maintenance department.

The trucks were parked inside and around the college entrance on Germantown Avenue for about 30 minutes, before clearing out, holding up traffic near Northwestern Avenue for only a few minutes.
The school however, was without electricity until the generator could be turned back on.

“They just need the energy to get all the lights turned back on,” Nalls said, which takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
Students have not come back to school yet at Chestnut Hill College, so the electricity outage caused no major disruptions.
