Germantown Ave Wawa Robbed At Gunpoint On Valentine's Day

Three men – one armed with a gun – came into the store, held up the employees, and stole an unknown amount of cash, police said.

PHILADELPHIA – A Wawa on Germantown Avenue in the Mt. Airy area was robbed at gunpoint recently and Philadelphia Police are hoping the public can help them identify the suspects.

Police said at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, three men went into the Wawa at 7236 Germantown Ave. and announced a robbery. One of the men was armed with a black semi automatic handgun, police said.

One of the men held employees at gunpoint while another man took an unknown amount of cash from the register, police said. The third man acted as a lookout, police said.

The three men fled the area in a dark four-door sedan heading south on Germantown Avenue, police said.

No one was injured.

The suspect with the gun was described as a 20- to 25-year-old black male with a thin build standing about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black Nike hooded sweat shirt, a black mask, black and orange gloves, and dark pants.

The lookout was described as a 20- to 25-year-old black male with a heavy build standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a black ski mask, dark hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front, dark pants, and black and orange gloves.

The suspect who robbed the register is described as a 20- to 25-year-old black male with a thin build standing about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a black and orange mask, and red and orange sneakers.

The public should not approach the suspects if they are spotted and should call 911 instead.
