Longtime Germantown Barback Dies In Armed Robbery
A man posed as a customer then announced a robbery at last call. He shot a bar worker in the chest, killing him.
PHILADELPHIA — A longtime Germantown bar employee died early Thursday morning during an armed robbery at said bar, according to Philadelphia Police. Now, authorities are offering a sizable reward for information leading to the killer's arrest and conviction.
Police said a 58-year-old man working as a barback at DelMar Lounge on the 300 block of West Chelten Avenue in Germantown died after a man posing as a customer announced an armed robbery at last call early Thursday morning.
After being shot in the chest, the victim was rushed to Einstein Medical Center where he later died, according to police

Police described the suspect as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s who stood between 6 feet 1 inch and 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin athletic build and light brown complexion.
He has close-cut black hair, a goatee, and was wearing a long sleeve beige or light-colored thermal shirt under a dark blue or black “Dickies”-type button down shirt along with dark or black pants.

He was last seen fleeing on foot east on Chelten Avenue then south on Pulaski Avenue from the bar.
A $20,000 reward is available for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction.
