Join Friends of Carpenter’s Woods and Parks & Recreation’s Love Your Park Week for 2 days of free events in Carpenter’s Woods. There will be Trail Walks led by experts, a Children’s Bird Pageant for preschoolers, and a Bird PHILLY Warbler Bird Walk—something for everyone! Come see our new meadow and lower trail project.
- BirdPHILLY Carpenter’s Woods for Warblers Bird Walk, led by birding experts from Delaware Valley Ornithological Club (DVOC) (birdphilly.org). Beginners to experienced birders welcome: May 16, 7:30 am
- The Urban Forest with Jason Lubar, Assoc. Dir. of Urban Forestry, Morris Aboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, ISA Board Certified Master Arborist: May 16, 1:00 pm
- Signs of Spring with Mark Fallon, Senior Naturalist, Briar Bush Nature Center: May 16, 2:30 pm
- Protecting Native Trees and Plants with Kenneth LeRoy, ISA Certified Arborist PD-78, John B. Ward & Co. Tree Experts: May 16, 4:00 pm

Most Trail Walks meet at the Ellet Kiosk (intersection of the Ellet Trail and Spring Trail). Children’s Bird Pageant starts at the intersection of the Wayne Ave and Ellet Trails and proceeds along the Ellet Trail to the Ellet Kiosk. BirdPHILLY Bird Walk meets at the Wayne Ave Entrance to Carpenter’s Woods (Wayne Ave and W. Sedgwick St, Mt Airy, 19119)
