Moms Eat Local: King's Garden Chinese Restaurant

Find out how kid-friendly King's Garden Chinese Restaurant is.

Moms know how tough it can be to eat out with little ones. Patch wants to help you know before you walk in the door if King’s Garden Chinese Restaurant is a good place to eat with your children.

Restaurant King’s Garden Chinese Restaurant

Is there a kids’ menu? No, but King’s offers a lengthy selection of standard Chinese fare.  Some of their child-friendly options include fried rice, lo mein, steamed dumplings, or what my children had and polished off with ease—Seafood in Flower Basket.

Are there healthy options on the kids’ meal? Chinese food does not typically strike me as overly health conscious cuisine—oil and fried techniques abound.  You can opt for steamed dumplings or stick with vegetarian or seafood options but there is sure to be an ample dose of oil.

How does the restaurant deal with food allergies? The menu offers a wide variety of options and if they cannot accommodate a dietary request you are sure to find an alternate.

Is the restaurant so quiet that any childish outburst will draw attention or is there enough noise that a small cry is likely to go unnoticed? I dined at King’s Garden Chinese Restaurant with my two toddlers with great comfort.  They did not go unnoticed as the staff made noticeable efforts to keep them engaged. I ordered a Mock Scorpion for them to share (a medley of fruit juices) and they split the juice into two glasses so that they’d each have their own!
