Mt. Airy Dunkin Donuts Robbed Saturday: Police

A Dunkin Donuts in Mt. Airy was robbed Saturday, with the two suspects making off with just $150, Philadelphia Police said.

The robbery happened at about 6:15 a.m. at the Dunkin Donuts at 8113 Stenton Ave., police said.

Police said a black male entered the store and placed an order, handing the 18-year-old female employee cash.

During the transaction, another black male entered the store, according to police.

When the employee was completing the transaction the sale and opened the cash register, the first suspect reached over and grabbed the register drawer attempting to remove it from the register, police said.

After a brief struggle with the suspect, he took the cash register drawer containing approximately $150 then fled on foot and was last seen in the parking lot of the business where the cash drawer was dropped and left behind, police said.

Police said no on was injured in the incident.

The suspects are described as such according to police:

• A black male, 6 feet tall, between 30 and 40 years old with a medium to large build, a dark complexion, and clean shaven face. He was wearing a colored waist length hooded jacket, a tan ski hat, timberland style boots, and blue jeans.
  
• A black male, 40 years old, 5 foot 6 inches tall with a brown complexion and a mustache. He was wearing wire rimmed glasses, gray hooded sweatshirt with an unknown logo on the back, gray sweatpants, and white sneakers.

Police said the public should not approach the suspects and should call 911 immediately if they are spotted.
