Mt. Airy Man Dead After Kelly Drive Motorcycle Crash: Police

MT AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – A East Mt. Airy man is dead following a Wednesday night crash on Kelly Drive.

George James, 43, of East Mt. Airy, died from injuries sustained after crashing his motorcycle into another vehicle Wednesday night on Kelly Drive, according Philadelphia Police

The crash occurred at about 9:08 p.m. on Kelly Drive near Brewery Hill Drive, police said.

James was heading north on Kelly Drive while the BMW, driven by a 47-year-old woman, was heading south, police said.

The BMW allegedly made an illegal left turn, which led James to strike the BMW on the passenger side, police said.

James was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on a grassy median, police said.

James was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:38 p.m., according to police.

Police did not release the identity of the other driver and did not say any arrests were made.
