Mt. Airy Native Honored At Sunday's Eagles Game

Darlene Adams, of Mt. Airy, is the president and CEO of Keeping Children First and was recognized at the Sunday's home Eagles game.

MT. AIRY, PHILADELPHIA – A Mt. Airy native was honored at Sunday's Eagles game for her work to end bullying.

Darlene Adams, president and CEO of Keeping Children First, was named an honoree in the "Santander Community Quarterback Program" and was recognized at Sunday’s Eagles game as part of the program.

Keeping Children First is a Philadelphia-based organization with a mission to end bullying, promote discussion, improve education on the subject, and provide resources to schools to help prevent it.

Adams received $1,000 for the local nonprofit organization of her choice and a VIP experience Sunday's Eagles home game against the Denver Broncos.

At the end of the season, fans will have the opportunity to vote for one of three finalists to be named the Top Community Quarterback.

The winner will receive an additional $4,000 to donate to a local nonprofit of his or her choice.

Keeping Children First was founded in 2012 by Adams’ daughter, Trina Antoinette Adams, who spent her life dedicated to studying the clinical behavior of bullying with a goal of finding a meaningful, broad-based solution for ending it.

A year after the organization’s founding, Trina tragically died after intervening in a bullying incident.

Honoring her daughter’s memory, Adams now leads the charge, dedicating herself to educating young people in order to alleviate bullying and furthering the cause in Trina’s name.

Adams’ organization has served more than 1,000 children in the past five years, providing educational resources as well as special experiences, including concerts with local performing arts groups and field trips to innovative companies like Microsoft, to continue to inspire children and foster a better, more engaged community.

Nominations for Top Community Quarterback are open now through Nov. 27, 2017.

Fans will have the opportunity vote for the Top Community Quarterback from Dec. 6 through Dec. 15.
