Philly DA Addresses Not Charging City Solicitor In Anti-Trump Graffiti Incident

Assistant City Solicitor Duncan Lloyd was suspended without pay and doing community service for his involvement in the vandalism.

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams defended his decision not to charge Assistant City Solicitor Duncan Lloyd for his involvement in the anti-Trump graffiti incident in Chestnut Hill that has led to charges for a Brooklyn, N.Y. man.

Williams was on Dom Giordano's program on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT and discussed the Thanksgiving night incident, saying for Lloyd to be arrested and charged the city would "need something more" than him simply being present for the crime.

On Dec. 11, Philadelphia police arrested and charged Evan Brown, 33, of Brooklyn, N.Y., with possession of an instrument of crime and criminal mischief in connection with the vandalism, which caused between $3,000 and $10,000 of damage to the Fresh Market grocery store in Chestnut Hill.

Lloyd will keep his job with the city but was placed on two-week unpaid leave since he turned himself in after the Philadelphia Police released the security footage, where Lloyd and allegedly Brown are seen at the store.

Lloyd will also undergo 40 hours of community service with the city’s Community Life Improvement Program specifically the Graffiti Abatement Team.
