​Philly Man Faces Prison Time, $250K In Fines After Allegedly Robbing Bank Of $860​

The man is accused of robbing the Republic Bank on Market Street in November last year.

A Philadelphia man is facing charged related to a bank robbery that occurred in November 2016 at a Center City bank, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Stephen Arellano, 59 of Philadelphia, was charged Feb. 23 by Indictment with one count of bank robbery, according to Acting United States Louis D. Lappen.

Arellano allegedly robbed the Republic Bank, at 1601 Market St. in Philadelphia, on Nov. 16, 2016.

Arellano allegedly stole approximately $860 in U.S. currency from the victim teller and faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, three years’ supervised release, and a $100 special assessment, the attorney's office said.

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department investigated the case, which will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Eric A. Boden.
