Police Blotter: Burglaries and Thefts in Chestnut Hill

Burglary … A resident of the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue reported Oct. 11, 4:30 p.m., that while she was laying in bed, a man, described as in his 30s, medium build, about 6’ and having a goatee, wearing black pants and a black tee-shirt, cut a hole in her window screen, . According to police, she told the man to leave, and he said, ‘My bad, wrong apartment,’ and left in a BMW station wagon.
Burglary … A resident of the 300 block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported Oct. 11, 12 a.m., that the screen to her front window had been removed and was laying on the ground, although it appears no entry was gained into her home, police said.
Burglary … A resident of the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue reported Oct 11, 7:30 a.m., that someone had forced open a window to his apartment, which had been ransacked, and $14,000 in televisions, computers, cash and a gun was taken, police said.

Theft … A resident of the 100 block of East Mermaid Lane reported Oct. 13, 4:30 p.m., that a black handbag, with $300 cash, a wallet and a digital camera, was missing from a file cabinet where it was being stored, police said.
Theft from auto … A resident of the unit block of East Gravers Lane reported Oct. 11, 6:30 a.m., that while he was parked on the 8400 block of Ardleigh Street, a bicycle rack, valued at $800, was taken from the roof of his car, police said.

Theft from auto … A man reported Oct. 9, 4 p.m., that while he was parked on the unit block of West Bells Mill Road, that school books, a drivers license, a bank card, keys a wallet and clothing were missing from his car, police said.
Theft … An employee of reported Oct. 12, 12 a.m., that someone had taken a Mac Book Pro laptop and charger, valued at $1,300, from his office in the school, police said.
Burglary … A resident of the 7800 block of Winston Road reported Oct. 15, 9 p.m., that when she and her husband returned to their home after being away for a few hours, the house had been entered through a front window and $10,000 in jewelry was missing, police said.
