Police Searching For Woman Abducted From SEPTA Bus

The early-morning incident happened on Roosevelt Boulevard in the city's Crescentville neighborhood.

Police are searching for a woman who was abducted from a SEPTA bus early Friday morning on Roosevelt Boulevard in the city's Crescentville neighborhood.

The woman was abducted off the Route R bus around 2 a.m. by a man in a Silver Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix with temporary tags from Delaware, 6ABC reports.

Police said the car pulled up to the bus when it stopped to pick up passengers and the man began punching and smashing the window by where the woman was sitting, the report said.

A few blocks later, when the woman was getting off the bus, the man pulled in front of the bus, grabbed the woman, punched her and forced her in his car, 6ABC said.

FOX 29 said the bus driver was trying to "maneuver" away from the bus during the incident.

The victim and suspect may know each other, authorities told FOX29.
