Antonelli Institute Chapters of the
Student Photographic Society and the National Press Photographers Association are
proud to host Pulitzer Prize winning Independent Photojournalist, Jim “Mac”
MacMillan!
Jim MacMillan is
an independent multimedia journalist and educator in Philadelphia. He was a
Knight-Wallace Fellow at Michigan, an Ochberg Fellow with the Dart Center for
Journalism and Trauma, has led journalism courses at numerous colleges and universities
and is presently the Editor and Cofounder of The Gun Crisis Reporting Project
and Assistant Director of the Center for Public Interest Journalism at Temple University. Previously, he was the Senior Photographer at
the Philadelphia Daily News and a Senior Member of the Associated Press
Photography Staff awarded the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography
while covering over 200 combat missions in Iraq.
The event will be held at Antonelli Institute on March 4,
2014 at 6:00 pm. Mac will be sharing
his career experiences and discussing why it is a great time to be a

The Gun Crisis
Reporting Project is an award-winning, independent, nonprofit journalism
organization, dedicated to illuminating the epidemic of homicide by gunfire in

Antonelli Institute just celebrated its 75th year. Our mission is to prepare motivated students
for entry-level positions leading to careers in the photographic and graphic
design professions. Since 1938, Antonelli’s
distinct, accelerated visual arts programs have combined small classes,
interactive lecture, and hands-on learning.
