On its last day, the cafe is hosting a pay-what-you-want breakfast buffet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m

The buffet will feature coffee, juice, eggs, French toast, muffins, bacon, grits, and of course a waffle station, which will be operated by their sons Jalyn and Josiah, who both insisted on building the action station in the dining room so that they could “thank as many guests as possible for five incredible years."

While the Germantown location may be closing, this is not the end of Rose Petals Café serving Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood.

"We are currently scouting the area and looking for a new location to continue serving the community that has played an extremely vital role in helping us build and grow our business," Desmin Daniels said. "We aren't going anywhere, just taking a short break as we look to upgrade and find a new home."

Rose Petals, which opened their second location in the Yorktown Plaza at Church Road and Old York Road in Elkins Park on Sept. 21, originally opened in Germantown in 2013 with a menu inspired by Desmin Daniels' grandmother. The restaurant's name honors Desmin Daniels' younger sister, Rose, who was murdered at the age of 27 in 2011.

"It's really hard to say goodbye. We have been a fixture in the Germantown community for more than five years, fulfilling a dream to give back, provide quality service, and to live the dream of entrepreneurship," the couple said. "We thought we would be here for years to come, but this decision was out of our control. These past five years have changed both the community and our lives beyond measure. We want to say thank you for our customers' loyalty and love of our brand. This is not goodbye, but rather a thank you and please follow us in our journey for a new home."
