Support a Dog Run in Mt. Airy!

Community members are proposing a fenced-in dog run area in Pleasant Playground Park in East Mt. Airy.

Since the Pleasant Playground clubhouse and playground were relocated to the south side of the park, the northeast corner of the park has gone mostly unused. There are thousands of dog owners in the Mt. Airy and the nearest fenced dog parks are in Glenside, Roxborough, and Manyunk.

The proposed dog run would include fenced areas for small and large dogs to play off leash, “poop stations,” covered trash receptacles, a water fountain to serve both dog owners and basketball players, with a separate spigot and bowl for dogs, and benches for people.

We are currently seeking the support of residents and businesses for the creation of the dog run and we’re also building a community of people that will help to sustain and care for the space.
