The Gravers Lane Gallery Opens This Week

Owners say the March 16 soft opening will give neighbors a preview before a grand opening down the road.

Chestnut Hill can add another art gallery to its list of cultural assets.

On Wednesday, March 16, The Gravers Lane Gallery will open its doors at 8405 Germantown Avenue.

The gallery is the result of collaboration between Chestnut Hill resident Michael Tracy, local businessman Ken Goldenberg, photographer Robert L. Smith and gallery director Amse Hammershaimb.

Tracy said March 16 will be a soft open. When the doors open at 10 a.m., they will be doing business as usual.

“We’ll do a grand opening, a big reception, down the road, once we’ve established ourselves,” Tracy said.

In the meantime, Tracy invites customers and curious neighbors alike to come by and take a look. He said that the Gravers Lane Gallery is no traditional art house.

“We’ve got a lot of avant-garde items. Art work, one of a kind jewelry, all kinds of cool stuff, that you just have to see,” Tracy said.

“We’re really trying to make it a destination spot that will draw people, not just people from here, but bring people to Chestnut Hill.”
