Volunteer for MLK Day this Weekend in Carpenter's Woods
Saturday and Sunday, January 17-18, 9 AM to 12 Monday, January 19, 9 AM to 1 PM Carpenter's Woods, Wayne Ave & Sedgwick St, Mt Airy
Volunteer with Friends of Carpenter’s Woods and Parks & Recreation to remove invasive vines in Carpenter’s Woods this weekend. Adult and Teen volunteers are welcome to join our volunteer leaders, David Bower (of Parks and Recreation) and John Janick (of Friends of Carpenter’s Woods), and your neighbors to learn how to identify and remove these vines that keep our native plants from prospering.
Join us for any or all the days on this Weekend of Community Service honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.
- Dress for the weather and working outdoors.
- Bring a bottle of water.
- Tools and Gloves will be provided.
Meet at 9 AM at the Wayne Ave entrance to Carpenter’s Woods, Wayne Ave and Sedgwick St. This is also the SEPTA 53 Bus Turnaround at the top of Wayne Ave. Join us later by following the volunteers at work signs.
