Cranberry To Hold Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Event
Time to get rid of that hazardous junk that's accumulated around the house.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — Have an old monitor or printer that has stopped working and is just taking up space? What about those pesky Freon-containing devices in the garage?
The township has answers on what to do with them and other materials and substances at a household hazardous waste collection event. It's scheduled for Oct. 23 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the township public works building off of Route 19.
The event requires advance registration at www.ecsr.net.

Rates for specific items include:
- $0.60/pound: TVs, monitors, printers and towers.
- $0.40/pound: All other electronics.
- $0.70/pound: Small freon containing devices.
- $0.63/pound: Paint.
- $1/pound: Household hazardous waste.
- $0.75/pound: Universal waste (bulbs and batteries).
- $4/each: Propane tanks.
Items that won't be accepted include explosives, fire extinguishers, radioactive material, elemental mercury, ammunition, tires, medical waste, syringes, smoke detectors and large appliances.
