Cranberry Hosting Hazardous Materials Drop-Off

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Have an old picture-tube TV set or monitor that you're itching to junk? You'll have an opportunity to ditch those and other unwanted hazardous appliances and materials later this month.
ECS&R Environmental Services will be on hand Sept. 29 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the township public workers building by Community Park to collect old TVs and other electronics, such as room air conditioners and small appliances containing refrigerants.
Collection fees vary according to the item's height and weight. General household hazardous wastes such as paints, cleaning products and pool chemicals, as well as fluorescent bulbs, car parts and batteries, are 68 cents per pound. Old tube-type TV sets are 55 cents per pound. Other electronics are 35 cents per pound. Appliances containing refrigerants are 62 cents per pound and devices containing mercury are $6.35 per pound.

All fees are payable at the collection site. Advance appointments are required. Check online to learn whether the items you want to dispose of are accepted, what they will cost, and to arrange a time to drop them off.
