Cranberry's Caputy Awarded Lions Club's Highest Honor

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - The Cranberry Township Area Lions Club has presented Chuck Caputy with the Melvin Jones Fellowship, the organization’s most prestigious award.

The Melvin Jones Fellowship is an honor presented to those who donate $1,000 to the Lion’s Club International Foundation to people for whom a donation was made by others. The fellowships are the financial backbone of the foundation, providing 75 percent of the organization’s revenue.

“It is our privilege to recognize this year’s King Lion, Chuck Caputy, for his contributions to Lions and the community,” Cranberry Township Area Lions Club secretary Tim Roscoe said.

Caputy became a Lion in 2010 and has served as King Lion twice. According to Roscoe, he has been active with the club’s various activities and service projects and has sponsored several new members into the club.

Caputy also has been awarded the Lions Silver Centennial Membership Award and has earned a perfect attendance award in every year of his membership.
