"The Crucible" by Arthur Miller

Directed by Robert Hockenberry

Based on the infamous Salem Witch Trials of the 1690s as filtered through the eye of the McCarthy era in American politics, this gripping drama is the story of John Proctor and the upheaval caused by his dalliance with Abigail Williams. Several local girls have been involved in an incident in the woods with the slave Tituba, but none of them will talk. When Rev. John Hale is summoned to investigate, people start professing their faith and innocence but accusing others of dancing with the devil. As the panic spreads, the accusations fly fast and furious – but who is really telling the truth?
