• Cranberry aims to improve communication between disabled drivers/passengers and first responders (butlereagle.com) — Cranberry Township police, EMS, and volunteer firefighters are rolling out a new Blue Envelope Program to help drivers and passengers with autism, communication challenges, or hidden disabilities during traffic stops and emergencies. Residents can pick up color-coded envelopes at the police department or Municipal Center, where they'll store key documents and communication preferences so first responders can quickly understand and better support them in stressful situations.
   

• Cranberry Township to vote on conditional use application for skill game machines (cranberryeagle.com) — Cranberry Township supervisors will decide on Oct. 1 whether an arcade at the Excel Center on Route 19 can keep operating eight skill game machines under a conditional use application. The debate centers on a recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling that classifies such devices as illegal slot machines, leaving township officials to weigh zoning rules against state gambling law.
   

• Attacks on synagogues were part of massive ISIS-inspired plot by Pittsburgh-area man, FBI says (jhvonline.com) — A terrorism suspect from nearby Valencia was arrested by FBI agents in a Cranberry, Pa., hotel parking lot after allegedly plotting ISIS-inspired mass attacks, including potential poisonings at synagogues and other public places. Authorities say they seized a rifle, ammunition, and numerous knives, and local Jewish organizations report they're working closely with law enforcement while no specific synagogue targets have been identified.
