Route 19 Road Work Could Cause Traffic Tie-Ups

The evening work that begins next week will trigger lane closures.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - If you plan on driving on Route 19 at night for the next few weeks, prepare to exercise patience. PennDOT will perform pavement rehabilitation work along a 8.25-mile stretch of the road between Zelienople and the Allegheny County line.

The road work, expected to be completed by Independence Day, will occur between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., starting in Zelienople and moving south. The $730,000 project involves digging trenches to repair the joints between pavement sections. One lane of the road will be closed as the work progresses.

The tentative work schedule:

  • Southbound edge line: June 19-21
  • Northbound edge line: June 22, 23 and 26.
  • Southbound center line: June 27-29
  • Northbound center line – June 30, July 3, 4
