Playoff Time: Seneca Valley Girls Soccer Team Dominates Hempfield
The Raiders post a 7-2 win over the Spartans in first round of WPIAL playoffs on Saturday.
In less than two minutes, 's Myra Charles has the girls soccer team was on the board Saturday for the first round of the WPIAL playoffs against the Hempfield Spartans.
The Spartans came into the contest with an overall record of 9-7-0. The Raiders were 15-1-2. The Raiders would go on to beat the Spartans by a score of 7-2.
Despite some heavy defense by the Spartans, Seneca's Raegan Dobbins and Rachel Leake also quickly scored goals. Hempfield's Courtney Carroll found the back of the net for the Spartans with 6:45 left in the half. Five minutes later, SV's Erica McGoogan posted another goal. The teams headed into halftime with the Lady Raiders in the lead 4-1.

Seneca Valley continued to dominate the second half of play as the Spartans encountered a Raider defense that has allowed less than a dozen goals all season.
Spartan Chelsea Burkhart lobbed a shot into the goal from the 30-yard-line with 15:49 remaining in the game, but it wasn't enough to keep Hempfield in contention. Morgan Williams, Katie Willard, and Emily Wagner scored three more Raider goals.

Seneca Valley will face North Allegheny at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martorelli Stadium for round two of the WPIAL playoffs.
