Seneca Valley Teachers Earn National Board Certification
Four teachers complete rigorous program.

has added four teachers with prestigious National Board Certification to its ranks, bringing the districtβs total number of board certified teachers to seven.
National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential thatβs part of a voluntary assessment program designed to recognize effective and accomplished teachers who meet the high standards of instruction.Β
Earning the distinction are Elizabeth Allen-Boyle, a teacher, Amy Broman and Julie Smith, both teachers at , and Jenifer McMurray, a teacher.

District spokeswoman Linda Andreassi said the hard work the teachers put in to earn the certification should be reflected in their classrooms.Β
βThis is an intense and rigorous program that requires a great deal of self-reflection,β she said. βFor this reason, successful completion of such a program certainly enhances instructional capabilities in the classroom. All of us at Seneca Valley are proud of their hard work and dedication to our students.β

The district may be more teachers with National Board Certification in the future. Andreassi said two more teachers are pursing the designation.
