Allegheny County to Host International Food Fridays in Courthouse Courtyard

Polish, Lebanese, Greek and Ethiopian fare will be offered on Fridays during September.

The Allegheny County Special Events Office will host International Food Fridays in the Courthouse Courtyard from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every remaining Friday in September.

Each Friday will feature lunch specials priced from $5 to $7. The courthouse is located at 436 Grant St. in downtown Pittsburgh.

“Our International Food Fridays have been very successful over the years,” Special Events Manager Bill Deasy said. “Once again this year, we invite everyone to take a break from their brown bag lunch and enjoy the unique cuisine that other countries have to offer.”

International Food Fridays will feature lunch specials, desserts, drinks and music from Poland, Lebanon, Greece and Ethiopia. Local restaurants will provide and serve the lunches.

  • Friday, Sept. 9—Celebrate Polish Food Day with S&D Polish Deli of the Strip District.
  • Friday, Sept. 16—Celebrate Lebanese Food Day with Najat’s Cuisine of North Braddock.
  • Friday, Sept. 23—Celebrate Greek Food Day with Rodos Greek CafĂ© of White Oak.
  • Friday, Sept. 30—Celebrate Ethiopian Food Day with Abay Ethiopian Cuisine of East Liberty.
