2 Arrested On Retail Theft Charges In Separate Incidents In Plumstead

A 44-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man are facing retail theft charges following repeated incidents at a township grocery store.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people are facing retail theft charges in separate incidents at the Giant Food Store in Plumstead Township.

On May 5 at about 1:16 p.m., police were called o the Giant store at the Cross Keys Place Shopping Center for a woman who had stolen food items on multiple occasions.

Police said the 44-year-old woman was taken into custody, and a search of her backpack yielded drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department for processing.

A check of the woman's criminal history revealed two prior retail theft convictions, police said.

In a separate case, police were called to the Giant store on April 29 at about 3:19 p.m. for a retail theft complaint.

Police said an investigation determined that a man had entered the store on two separate occasions, April 21 and 26, removed various products from the shelves and left the store without paying.

The 57-year-old man was processed and arraigned on May 4 at the Central Bucks Regional Police Department on a charge of retail theft. He was remanded to Bucks County Prison, police said.
