After Indecent Exposure Incident, Police Warn Canal Path Users to Be 'Vigilant'

Police are seeking a tall, pale man with shaggy, dark hair who allegedly exposed himself to a woman along the canal path near Rt. 532.

Upper Makefield Police are warning people who use the canal path to be vigilant of a man who is allegedly exposing himself to people, perhaps on numerous occasions.

Police released a detailed description of the man Tuesday, just two days after a female bicyclist reported an incident of indecent exposure along the canal path at Route 532.

According to Upper Makefield police, at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, a female bicyclist was riding along the canal path in the area of Rt. 532, when a white male with dark hair exposed himself. He was wearing a red shirt and dark shorts.

Police believe he is about 6 feet tall and in his late 20s to early 40s. He has an average build with a full head of dark hair in a “shag-type” style that does not go below the ears, police said. He has a “very pale skin tone,” according to police.

As the cyclist was calling police after she witnessed the exposure, the subject fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Officers responded but were unable to locate the man.

The cyclist told police that before the incident, she saw the same man along the canal path in Yardley Borough.

“This may be related to recent incidents that have occurred in Lower Makefield Township involving a subject that matches our suspect’s general description,” Upper Makefield Township police said via an announcement on Facebook.

“If you use the canal path, please be vigilant and if you see a person that matches our suspect’s description or any other suspicious activity or persons, please call 911 immediately,” Upper Makefield police said.
