Ale Trail Collaborates On New Brew, Ice Cream Store Opens Its Doors In Bucks

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The brewers of Bucks County came together this past week to announce this year's "Collaboration Beer," which will make its debut later this month along the Bucks County Ale Trail.

On Saturday, a new ice cream store - Humdoo - opened its doors at the former Candlewyck restaurant site in Buckingham Township. This is the second location for the Flemington, N.J.-based store, which is owned and operated by a Bucks County resident.

The owners of Ardana Food and Drink this week announced that they will be closing their restaurant in Newtown this fall and selling the space to a South Jersey-based restaurant group. Ardana will continue to operate its Ardana and KC Prime restaurants in Warrington.

Bucks Ale Trail Collaborates On New Brew

A new Session IPA, brewed with Idaho 7 and Citra Hops, will debut later this month along the Bucks County Ale Trail. On Tuesday, Visit Bucks County partnered with host, Warwick Farm Brewing, and the brewers of Bucks County, to announce the upcoming release of the fourth county-wide Bucks County Ale Trail collaboration beer, Expedition Bucks County.

Ice Cream Shop Opens In Buckingham

Bucks County ice cream lovers have a big reason to celebrate. Flemington, N.J.-based Humdoo Ice Cream opened its second location on Saturday at the former Candlewyck in Buckingham. The new store is featuring all of Humdoo's favorites, including 24 flavors of hand-scooped hard ice cream complemented by milkshakes, sundaes, and ice cream cakes. Plus it is debuting its exclusive Buckingham Soda Bar featuring dirty soda, floats, fizzies, and a whole lot more.

Ardana Owners Sell Newtown Location

The Christou family, which has owned and operated Ardana Food and Drink in Newtown for the past three and a half years, announced on Wednesday that it is selling its space at the Village at Newtown to the New Jersey-based LaScala Restaurant Group. “After three and a half incredible years, we have made the bittersweet decision to pass the torch at our Newtown location,” the family posted. “We’re pleased to share that we have finalized an agreement to sell the restaurant space to LaScala Restaurant Group of Marlton, N.J., with the transition taking place this fall."

Hometown Team To Compete In Bucks Classic

After spending the season competing against America's top cyclists, the Bike Works p/b (powered by) Fred Beans Cycling Team returns home for the Bucks County Classic on Sunday, Sept. 13, where local riders will take on national champions, Olympians, and the country's premier professional teams. The Bucks County Classic is one of America's most prestigious criteriums, challenging riders with a fast, technical 1.2-mile circuit through downtown Doylestown. For the hometown team, it represents an opportunity to race in front of the community that has supported its growth.
