Black Bear Sighting Reported At Peace Valley Park

A black bear was reportedly sighted Tuesday at Peace Valley Park in New Britain Township.

A black bear was sighted Tuesday at Peace Valley Park, according to a report by the Bucks County Courier Times.

A man visiting family in the area who went to the park told the publication he saw it while driving on New Galena Road through the park. He submitted a photo to the publication, which can be viewed here.

The director of the Bucks County Parks Department could not confirm the sighting.

Bear sightings are not uncommon this time of year in Bucks County, however.

Sightings have been reported recently as far south in the county as Bensalem.

If you see a bear, you should never approach it, experts say. Instead, report the sighting to authorities by calling 911.
