Blasting Scheduled Today At Warrington Township Quarry

As mandated by the state DEP, all blasting activities will be monitored and conducted according to state and federal laws.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Eureka Stone Quarry, Inc. will be conducting blasting activities at its Warrington Quarry located on Easton Road on Thursday, Jan. 8 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to a notice posted by the township.

As mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, all blasting activities will be monitored and conducted according to state and federal laws.

Prior to detonations, an air horn will sound three times, each lasting between five and 10 seconds. Following an inspection of the blast area, a single 10 second air horn signal will sound.

Adverse weather conditions, equipment breakdowns, personnel illnesses and other unforeseen issues may make it necessary, in the interest of safety, to conduct unscheduled blasting operations on occasion, according to the notice.
