Buckingham Bridge Replacement Project Topic Of PennDOT Meeting
PennDOT invites public to hear plans for the replacement of the Cold Spring Creamery Road Bridge.

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A project to replace the Cold Spring Creamery Road Bridge in Buckingham Township will be the topic of a live virtual meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 8 beginning at 7 p.m.
Built in 1954, the 23.7 foot single-span reinforced concrete slab bridge which carries Cold Spring Creamery Road over a branch of Pine Run is showing signs of deterioration and is slated for replacement, according to PennDOT.
The bridge is located between Church School Lane and Burnt House Hill Road.

Under the proposed replacement project, PennDOT will remove and replace the existing reinforced concrete slab structure, stone and concrete abutments and wing walls; reconstruct the structure approaches; and install guide rail, traffic signs, and pavement markings.
The new structure, built with a precast concrete box culvert, will be wider than the existing bridge and will include two 10 foot lanes with four foot shoulders on both sides for a total width of 31.79 feet, according to PennDOT.

During construction, Cold Spring Creamery Road will be closed to all through traffic. Drivers will be directed to use a detour route that uses Swamp Road (Route 313), East State Street (U.S. 202), Mechanicsville Road, and Durham Road (Route 413). The project is projected to begin in 2025 and take about a year to complete.
During the May 8 virtual meeting, the department’s design team will deliver a project overview before opening the meeting to questions using the platform’s Q&A feature.
