Buckingham Teen Killed In Bucks Co. Crash

The Bucks County Coroner said a 17-year-old was killed after his vehicle struck a tree in Northampton Township Friday night.

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —A 17-year-old Buckingham Township resident was killed Friday night after his vehicle struck a tree in Northampton Township Friday night, authorities said.

The Northampton Township Police Department is investigating the fatal accident that killed the male driver. The accident happened at 7:40 p.m. Friday in the township's Churchville section.

Police said the teenager was traveling eastbound on New Road when they lost control of their vehicle and struck a tree.

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck said that she is not releasing the name of the victim since he was a minor.

Buck said his initials are M.P., and that he is a 17-year-old from Buckingham Township.

The coroner said it was a single-vehicle accident at 505 New Road in Churchville. She said he died of multiple injuries and his manner of death has been determined as accidental.

"Our deepest condolences to his family and friends," Buck said.

The Northampton Township Police Department was assisted by the Bucks County Coroner's Office, the Warminster Police Department, Tri-Hampton Rescue, Northampton DPW, and the Northampton Fire Department.
