Bucks County Senior Holding Fundraiser For Cancer Organization

Come to Peddler's Village Nov. 10 through Nov. 13 to support The Breathing Room Foundation.

Bucks County's Peirce McGuckin is hoping to raise some money for a good cause this week by hosting a fundraiser at Peddler's Village.

McGuckin, 16, is holding a four day marathon of fundraising events to support The Breathing Room Foundation from Nov. 10 to Nov. 13.

Over the course of the weekend, shoppers can take part in a wine and cheese tasting on Thursday, a Painting for Love event with artist Dani Giovi on Friday, and endless shopping, live music, artisan co-ops and more tasting events throughout the weekend.

The PA Virtual Charter School senior hopes to draw in shoppers and create awareness for the foundation

The Breathing Room provides support and care to families facing cancer in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. McGuckin and his whole family has volunteered with The BRF for many years.

In addition to working part time at Bekky’s Village Workshop in Peddler’s Village, McGuckin uses his time between online classes to build relationships with other artisans in the shops and get them involved in the event, which doubles as his graduation project, a requirement for all PA Virtual students who graduate.

The Breathing Room Foundation provides care and support to local families affected by cancer by recognizing that a cancer diagnosis affects every aspect of a family’s life; emotional, physical, spiritual and financial. The foundation strives to provide a families with can allow a bit of “breathing room” from daily struggles against cancer.
