The nor'easter storm that passed through the region Friday packed a bigger punch than initially expected. The storm, which was expected to be mostly rain, ended up dumping a fair amount of snow on Bucks County. Nearly 500,000 people in Eastern Pennsylvania are without power as of Friday night, and sources say it could be days before it is fully restored.
As far as snow accumulation, the northern and central parts of the county were hit the hardest. For example, nearly 6 inches of snow fell in Chalfont, according to accumulation totals provided by the National Weather Service.
The storm caused a nightmare for commuters. The roads were poor and closures were rampant due to downed wires and trees. SEPTA canceled service along its Regional Rail lines due to the deteriorating conditions.
