Bucks County Transport To Announce New DART South Bus Route

DART South Route to Connect with Doylestown DART and DART West

Bucks County Transport, Inc. (BCT), a private, non-profit organization that provides shared ride transportation services for Bucks County residents, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 24 at 11 a.m. to introduce DART South, a new, fixed route bus service along PA Route 611 and Street Road in Warrington. The ribbon cutting will take place at the Shops at Valley Square, Center Court area, located at 1501 Main Street, Warrington. Legislators, County and Township officials will join BCT officials to speak and explain the benefits of the new DART South route to the community and its residents.

The DART South route will operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will provide a connection with the Doylestown DART and DART West routes. The fair is $1.00 and seniors 65 and older ride for free.

DART South will allow Warrington residents easier access to businesses and communities along Route 611 and Street Road, as well as reduce traffic congestion by having fewer cars on the road. The ribbon cutting event is free, open to the public and refreshments will be served, courtesy of local restaurants and businesses including Ardana, Grand Rodeo, Great Barn Brewery, PF Changs, The Fusion Bar, Walmart, Wawa and Wegmans.

DART currently provides fixed bus service in Doylestown, New Britain and Chalfont Boroughs, and Doylestown and New Britain Townships. The buses also provide connections to the SEPTA Doylestown Rail Line and Route 55 Bus. The DART System is operated by BCT in cooperation with the DART Committee. Funding for this service is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The Dart System provides approximately 41,866 trips per year to Bucks County residents and BCT provides approximately 258,000 trips annually.
