DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Democratic Committee has filed an application for

emergency relief with the Court of Common Pleas in Doylestown seeking an injunction against
an unknown party that has erected signs "maliciously defaming" the Democratic candidates in the Central Bucks School Board race.

The signs, the committee says, violate state law for lack of a disclaimer.

“The signs in question amount to libelous attacks against our Democratic candidates for school
board in Central Bucks,” said State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, who chairs the Bucks County
Democratic Committee. “But that is not the basis for the relief we seek from the court today,” he
added.

“We are seeking an injunction to have them removed because they clearly violate state
law, which requires that they contain a disclaimer as to who paid for and authorized the
signs," he continued. "They do not have that. A few have a sticker, put on them after they were printed, that lists ‘Letsgobrandon.com’ as a false disclaimer. The website in question relates to a self-described 'decentralized meme cryptocurrency.'"

Santarsiero said it's clear that whoever made the signs and put them up in the community knew that they were 'maliciously defaming our candidates and wanted to avoid being sued. "So they decided not to identify themselves.

"But they can’t have it both ways," he said. "It’s why state law requires a disclaimer to keep our election campaigns transparent and fact-based. The only remedy available is to take them down and that is what we are asking the court to order,” Santarsiero said.

“The campaign that has been waged against our candidates has been bitter, nasty and increasingly desperate. This is yet another example," he said. "But I firmly believe that the people of Central Bucks see through the ugliness and will vote for the change in the school district that
taxpayers, parents, and, above all, students so clearly need and deserve,” Santarsiero added.
