BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Thirty of the county's most popular restaurants and bars are taking center stage this summer for the first-ever "Bucks County Eat, Drink and Be Merry Month."

From Tuesday, August 15 through September 15, when patrons order a designated appetizer, entrée, drink, or dessert from participating restaurant and bar partners, a percentage of their order will be donated to the Kin Wellness and Support Center and local cancer patients and their caregivers.

“We are very excited to launch this month-long program. It has been amazing to see so many popular restaurants and bars step-up to participate and give back to our cancer community through Kin," said Kin executive director Keith Fenimore. "Now it is up to our Bucks County community to come out and eat at these locations and support the local businesses who support their community!”

Penn Taproom in Doylestown will be offering its popular salmon burger as its fundraiser for Kin. A portion of the cost of each sandwich will be donated to the wellness center in Buckingham, according to manager Albie Snyder.

The seven-ounce burger is served on a Brioche roll with lettuce, tomato, onion and chipotle mayo. It comes with the tavern's homemade Chesapeake chips.

"We served the same burger for Pine2Pink and it did really well," said Snyder. "So we're going to try it again. It's really a win-win all around. The customer gets a good burger, we bring patrons into the restaurant and Kin receives the proceeds.

"This is such a great cause to get behind," he adds. "Who hasn't had someone in their family affected by cancer? I lost one of the most important people in my life to cancer - my grandmother. This touches home for everybody. Why not do our part? And I love that all the restaurants and bars are getting behind it."

At Turning Point in Warrington they will be donating 10 percent to Kin on all orders of its popular Berry Chocolately Pancakes. The chocolate chip-filled pancakes are topped with fresh strawberries and chocolate drizzle and served with warm strawberry reduction. It's a great way to start the day.
