CB West Principal To Take Extended Leave, District Officials Say

Principal Jason Bucher has requested an extended medical leave of absence, district officials announced Tuesday.

Central Bucks High School West’s principal will take an extended leave of absence, Central Bucks officials announced Tuesday.

In a letter to the school community, Superintendent David Weitzel said Principal Jason Bucher has requested an extended medical leave of absence.

The Board of School Directors will take action on the request at the regularly-scheduled school board meeting on Sept. 8.

“At this time we do not have a specific duration of the leave,” Weitzel said, adding, ”we are appreciative of Mr. Bucher’s contributions and commitment to our students and staff, and we support him during this time.”

Brian Caughie will serve as acting principal during Bucher’s leave of absence, Weitzel said.

“I know that this change will not be an easy one, but we are confident in the hard work and dedication of the Central Bucks West administrative team, faculty, and staff,” Weitzel said.
