BUCKS COUNTY, PA — This weekend is packed with fun things to do, from a celebration of agriculture at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown to the welcoming of the shad in the City of Lambertville and in neighboring New Hope.
The public can also experience "Art At Bucks," an annual celebration of the arts at the Bucks County Community College; take a look inside a restored Bucks County schoolhouse in Warrington;, and check out the adorable animals at the nation's oldest animal shelter in Bensalem.

A-Day Bringing Ag Experience To DelVal
A-Day returns to the campus of Delaware Valley University in Doylestown this weekend with fun, food, animals, milkshakes, and a special exhibit celebrating America's 250th birthday. This year’s event takes place Friday, April 24, from 12 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the campus of the university at 700 East Butler Avenue, Doylestown. The event is free; however, there is a $20 parking fee.

Shad Fest Casts Off With 2-Days Of Fun
When it comes to river town traditions, few can rival Shad Fest, the City of Lambertville's epic celebration of fish, fun and family. For the 43rd year, the Lambertville Chamber of Commerce will stage the festival - rain or shine - this weekend to welcome the shad back home to its spawning grounds and to bring people together to celebrate the city’s location on the Delaware River.

Celebration Showcases The Arts At Bucks
The Bucks County Community College invites the public to "Arts at Bucks," an annual multi-week celebration that showcases all that the School of Arts and Communication has to offer. Arts at Bucks features the 61st Annual Student Art Exhibition, with dozens of works students created over the last year. The exhibition will be on view through Tuesday, May 12, in the Hicks Art Center on the Newtown campus. The public is invited to the exhibition reception, open studios, alumni and student art and craft sale, and the art scholarship and award ceremony on Sunday, April 26, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Restored Schoolhouse Open For Tours
The Warrington Historical Society invites the community to step back in time at this weekend's open house at the historic County Line Schoolhouse. The event will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 10 Folly Road. The free, family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to tour the preserved schoolhouse and learn more about local history. Visitors are invited to explore the building, experience what a traditional classroom looked like, and gain insight into early education in the Warrington area.

Walking Tour To Explore First Town Hall
The Yardley Historical Association is holding a walking tour on Saturday afternoon of the borough's first municipal building. Susan Taylor, president of the Yardley Historical Association, said that Yardley's first municipal building still stands just east of today's Borough Hall. The event takes place at 2 p.m. on Saturday at 56 South Main Street.

Spring Fling At Bensalem Animal Shelter
The Women’s Animal Center is hosting its 4th annual Spring Fling Open House this weekend. America's oldest animal shelter said the event will also include a basket raffle. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the center on 3839 Richlieu Road in Bensalem. The community is invited to learn about the center's services, including community programs, pet adoptions, an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital, its kitten fostering program, dog training, and more.
